Papo Young Spinosaurus Dinosaur Toy Model 2018
The Amargasaurus lived in the early Cretaceous period approximately 130 million years ago. Its name means, "La Amarga lizard" becuase it was discovered in La Amarga Arroyo, Argentina. It was around 30-35 feet long, and weighed about 5 tons. Its neck alone was about 7 ft. long! It had two rows of spines that grew front its neck, down its back and tail. It is believed it may have been for protection from predators. It is also possible that this supported a sail.
The amargasuarus was a herbivore, surviving on plant matter, seeds, and mosses. It swallowed stones to help grind the plant material in its stomach, and aid in the digestion. They likely traveled in herds.
