The velociraptor was first made familiar to the general public in 1993, with the release of Jurassic Park. It was a two-footed, feathered carnivore. The raptor had a long, stiff tail and a large sickle-shaped claw on each hind foot. It is thought that the claw was their primary tool for killing prey. Paleontologists believe they were very intelligent and could move quickly, often hunting and traveling in packs.
