All About Great Hammerhead Sharks
There are actually 9 different species of hammerhead sharks swimming around in the ocean and ranging from 3 feet to over 20 feet long. Famous for their rectangular “hammer” shaped head, these unique sharks are quite the sight. The great hammerhead shark measures about 11.5 feet long and weighs between 500 and 1,000 pounds. A ferocious predator, the great hammerhead shark has an excellent sense of smell.
