Meteorites are parts of meteoroids and/or asteroids that fall from outer space to the Earth! They come in all shapes and sizes and have been discovered from places as far away as the moon and Mars! When you see a shooting star, you are actually seeing a meteorite falling to the Earth. But do not worry, it will probably disintegrate before it comes close to the ground. Because most meteorites never reach the ground, finding one is very rare. As few as 5 meteorites are made known to scientists each year.
