All About Blue Sharks
Blue sharks are large, sleek, indigo-colored sharks with pointed fins, a pointed snout, and very large eyes. Because of their sleek layout, blue sharks are graceful and powerful swimmers. Their strong teeth are sharp and serrated, allowing them to catch slippery creatures like squid and fish. The beautiful blue shark is found worldwide in open waters, preying primarily on squid. However, these fast predators, capable of swimming over 20 miles per hour, are considered dangerous to humans as blue shark attacks have been reported over the years. A characteristic unique to blue sharks is that they form large schools made up of all males or all females that are about the same size. Scientists have yet to figure out the reasoning behind these peculiar social groups.
